Recently I ran across an article in The Federalist entitled “5 More Ways Joe Biden Magically Outperformed Election Norms.” Clarke’s Law states that “any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.” And while I am not sure we have a sufficiently advanced technology at work here, it is possible that we have a sufficiently advanced lack of interest to question the events we have seen unfolding. Or perhaps we have a miraculous event, not seen on earth in thousands of years. Something akin to the parting of the Red Sea, or the Loaves and Fishes. Something unexplainable without resorting to magic, or miracles, or slight of hand.
When I was young, I remember hearing of the many miracles that are chronicled in the Bible. I remember asking why we don’t see such occurrences in the world today. After all, if God performed miracles today, wouldn’t that “prove” that he exists? Why are there miracles in the old and new Testaments, but no miracles today? Everyone I asked told me the same thing; “the age of miracles is over.”
Then came the 2020 elections, and the triumph of Joe Biden over Donald Trump. Clear evidence to me that indeed, the age of miracles is not over. For indeed, one would have to believe in miracles in order to believe that Joe Biden won this election fair and square. I have to apologize to my fellow citizens who happen to be progressive Democrats. I have unfairly maligned them as unbelievers when clearly their acceptance of the election results shows this assumption to be false. Indeed, their ability to accept the election results on faith shows that their faith is much greater than mine. I am humbled.
In 2008, the United States of America elected its first black president, Barack Obama. In that historic election, 69,498,516 votes were cast for him, the most ever cast for a presidential candidate. Barack Obama campaigned tirelessly across the country. Americans across the country wanted to be among those casting votes for Obama, so they could tell their children and grandchildren that they too were part of that historic event. African Americans gave 95% of their votes to Obama; Hispanics, 67%. 89% of Democrats and 9% of Republicans voted Obama, along with 52% of Independents. Joe Biden was his running mate.
However, the results of the 2020 election seem to show that instead of Barack Obama, maybe the real reason why Democrats won the 2008 election wasn’t the historical significance of electing America’s first Black president, but rather that Joe Biden was on the ticket with him. Perhaps it was Joe Biden’s popularity that drew the historical vote in 2008, not Barack Obama.
For in 2020, Joe Biden received 80,026.000 votes (with the count still continuing); more votes than did Barack Obama, America’s first Black president-elect, making him the new high man on the leaderboard, the most popular presidential candidate ever in U.S. History. And he achieved this not campaigning tirelessly across the country as did President Obama (and as President Trump did as well), but rather sitting out the pandemic in the comfort of his basement at home, demonstrating leadership in a time of crisis for all Americans.
How can anyone doubt the love and respect Americans have for Joe Biden, a man whose many political accomplishments span nearly 50 years of American history? How can anyone doubt the miraculous event of his victory in the face of so many contraindications?
Even though 76% of Trump voters were enthusiastic about their candidate compared to just 49% of Biden voters, with as many as 41% of Democrats seeing Biden as the “lesser of two evils” (compared with 17% of Trump voters who regarded him as such), Biden still managed to garner more votes than any presidential candidate in history! An amazingly historic number of voters managed to drag themselves to the polls, at least 6 million more than the enthusiastic Trump supporters could muster, despite lackluster support for their candidate.
Of course, it is possible that there simply weren’t enough enthusiastic Trump voters to make up for the multitude of unenthusiastic Biden voters who apparently hated Trump more than they even liked their own candidate. Then again, Trump did manage to “eek out” around 74 million votes, the most of any sitting president in history.
Biden also managed to do this while underperforming Hillary Clinton's 2016 effort in every major metro area around the country, except for Milwaukee (Wisconsin), Detroit (Michigan), Atlanta (Georgia) and Philadelphia (Pennsylvania), according to Patrick Basham, director of the Democracy Institute in Washington DC, who has done a preliminary analysis of the vote. In those cities (the ones coincidently that are the focus of lawsuits brought by Republicans for “voting irregularities”) the vote in many precincts even exceeded the number of registered voters. Most of these votes were not cast in person, and were overwhelmingly for Joe Biden; an unprecedented mail-in tsunami of ballots whereby not only did some people vote multiple times, (probably forgot they already voted) but even the dead rose up and sent in their ballots too.
And how about those “bellwether” states and counties? You know, the ones that seem to be able to predict, with uncanny accuracy, the presidential winner across the decades? In what would be a statistical anomaly, Joe Biden will be the first person since Kennedy to lose Florida and Ohio and still be elected president. While this is not necessarily a “miracle” (there is a finite possibility this could occur), it is worthy of note. It is also worthy of note that historians now consider that election (Nixon-Kennedy) to have been stolen. And he didn’t lose them by a hair; he lost in Ohio by eight points and in Florida by over three points.
Additionally, there are 19 counties across the country that, at least since Ronald Reagan, have always voted for the winner regardless of party. Of these 19 counties, Biden won exactly one. That is correct. Trump won 18 of them, with a margin of around 16 points on average. Biden won Clallam County in Washington by a 3 point margin. Does this qualify as a miracle? I think so. Is there a finite possibility this could happen? Yes – and there is also a finite possibility that I could flip a coin 100 times and have it land on edge each time. Is it likely? Not really. Ergo, a miracle.
How about this then. According to the Epoch Times, “There is another bellwether list of 58 counties that has correctly picked each president since 2000; Trump won 51 of them by an average margin of nearly 15 points. The ones he lost went to Biden by a margin of about four points on average.” Possible? Yes. Likely? What do you think?
But wait, there is more. Since 1888, Vigo County in Indiana has correctly picked the election winner in all but two elections; 1908 and 1952. Vigo picked Trump over Biden by nearly 15 points – coincidently roughly the same amount as in the 2016 election, yet Biden won. Miraculous? You decide.
Another thing really stands out about this election. In most elections, presidential candidates have “coattails.” That is, they tend to pick up seats in the House and Senate to go along with the win by their Presidential win. This time, although Biden appears to have won the election by historic tallies in the popular vote, the Democrats actually lost seats in the House, and failed to pick up any in the Senate. Indeed, they also failed to pick up any governorships or flip any state houses either. Republicans on the other hand, flipped both the House and Senate in New Hampshire, and increased their positions in state legislatures across the country. A sign that God wants Joe Biden to be President?
Then there is the fact that in the history of the country, no incumbent who has received 75% of the total primary vote has ever lost re-election. Trump received 94%, making him one of only five incumbents since 1912 to receive more than 90%. Remember when I mentioned enthusiasm? Trump’s primary totals were unprecedented, particularly for what was essentially an uncontested election. More than 18 million voters voted for him in the primaries. And yet, despite all this, Biden won. Granted, a lot can happen between the primaries and the general, and granted, this year, a lot most certainly did. Still, enthusiasm for Trump by his base seemed to persist through it all. So, a miracle?
Each one of these things, taken separately, could possibly happen. Taken together, it seems to me that divine providence has intervened on behalf of Joe Biden. It seems inconceivable that such events could possibly come to pass without man-made intervention on a massive scale – or of course, divine intervention such as has not been seen since the age of miracles. Since the media, and of course the Democratic party insist that the man-made intervention is simply a Hail-Mary right-wing conspiracy theory, and since the FBI and other federal authorities have not deigned to investigate, I can only conclude that divine intervention must be the source of Joe Biden’s victory.
Ironic, isn’t it, that Joe Biden would prevail due to the entity that the left denies even exists? Perhaps that is why Joe Biden won and the Democrats at large did not. Wasn’t it the Democrats who recently postulated that one of the reasons why Amy Coney Barrett should not be on the Supreme Court was because of her Catholic faith? Indeed, the left has put forth the postulate that anyone professing religious faith should be banned from government service of any type. Christians are mentally unbalanced, believing in an “invisible little old man” and “hearing voices in their heads;” clear signs of mental instability and insanity.
As a Christian, it is good to see that miracles still happen. And I have to believe it was a miracle. The alternative is to believe that the election was stolen in a massive fraud campaign, the likes of which the nation has never seen. Even though Joe Biden is on video bragging about having “the most extensive and inclusive Voter Fraud organization” in history. We all know Joe misspeaks. And he must have misspoke that time, right?
Far easier to believe in divine intervention than to believe in massive and gross corruption in the Democratic Party.
