Hillary Unscathed

We are living in an age where what you say and its relation with the facts is completely irrelevant. – Charles Krouthammer, Fox News Live, 22 Oct 2015

Well, Hillary has testified. So what do we know now that we did not know before? Well for one, we know definitively that the whole narrative about the Bengazi attack being caused by an out-of-control protest started by an anti-Muslim YouTube video was a totally bogus fabrication. It was from the start known to be a planned terrorist attack by an “al Quaida-like” group.

How do we know that? We know from recovered email sent by Hillary Clinton to her daughter Chelsea (who emailed under the pseudonym Diane Reynolds), and from phone calls to the President of Libya, and to the Prime Minister of Egypt, stating that “the attack in Libya had nothing to do with the film. It was a planned attack – not a protest.

But so what? Most of us knew that from the start. The actual date of the attack, 11 September, should have been the first clue to anyone who knows anything about how such groups operate. And the whole thing made little sense from the start. The whole YouTube video thing was obviously a not so subtle attempt on the part of the administration to shift the focus away from any possible finger-pointing at President Obama, who was running for re-election.

That’s fair, right? After all, when it comes to getting President Obama re-elected, and avoiding the disaster of another Republican administration, or, heavens forbid, putting Mitt Romney, a Mormon, in the White House, then anything goes, right? Ends justify the means? Hey, after all, it’s only about politics – everyone does it, right?

But what about the guy that made the controversial YouTube video, “Innocence of Muslims?” Well, he went to jail for a year. That’s right. Here in the United States, where we supposedly have a constitutional right to freedom of speech, where it is legal to burn and stomp all over the American flag, and where movies of questionable nature are made and sold in the nation’s stores and movie theaters all the time, this particular individual went to jail to provide cover for a story that was demonstrably false from the start.

But that’s OK, right? That is so three years ago – we need to move on! We have more important things to worry about than that old news. Forget that we jailed an innocent man. Forget that it was Secretary of State Hillary Clinton who promised the father of one of the Americans killed that she would see to it that the person who made the video was arrested and prosecuted.

Of course, that story is suspect too, right? All we have to go on for that is someone who called in to The Glenn Beck Program claiming to be the father of Tyrone Woods, one of the former Navy SEALs killed in the attack. After all, come on. It’s the Glenn Beck Program for crying out loud! Who believes the crap they spew there, anyway? And it's radio – that caller could have been anyone. It was probably orchestrated by Karl Rove in an obvious attempt to smear Hillary Clinton, who everyone knew would be running for president again after Obama was finished.

And to be “fair” I should point out that Nakoula Basseley Nakoula, a Coptic Christian born in Egypt and the man who made the video, wasn’t actually jailed for making and posting the video, despite what President Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Susan Rice and others may have said, insinuated, or blamed him for. In actuality, Nakoula was jailed for parole violations stemming from a previous conviction in 2010 for bank and credit card fraud. He specifically admitted to four violations, including lying to his probation officer and using bogus names. This was in response to a plea bargain with the prosecution who then dropped four other charges, including allegations that he lied to federal authorities in telling them that his role in the film’s production was limited to writing the script.

Because even in America today, you still can’t jail someone for making an “objectionable” video unless it pertains to child porn or involves someone actually committing a crime. A “snuff video” would fall under this sort of category. But you can jail them if they have run afoul of some other law that you can get them for, and there are a lot of laws out there to pick and choose from. Besides, Nakoula made their job easy, being as he was already on probation for a previous offense. Obviously a low-life scum sucking Islamophobe and probably got what he deserved anyway, right?

What else have we learned from the testimony of Hillary Clinton?

Well, we learned that Hillary, like her husband before her, got up in front of the American public and lied through her teeth. Not just once, but multiple times. We also found out that had we not looked into that illegal email server she had, we would not have found that out. The email to Chelsea was no-doubt among the “Yoga class” emails she deleted.

We have also learned, thanks to the Democrats sudden concern over spending, that we have so far spent over $4.8 million in the course of this investigation. In fact, they now have a spending tracker on their website where you can go and see the cost of the investigation in real time. While I suggest you go there and review the latest cost and associated Democratic propaganda supporting Secretary Clinton, I also suggest you go to this site, and review the federal debt clock as well. If that doesn’t make your eyes glaze over, nothing will.

And here are a few other little tidbits for you to chew on with regard to spending as well. The National Institutes of Health (NIH) gave $2,466,482 to an individual named Daniel Resnic for the vitally needed purpose of developing three versions of the Origami condom, including the first of its kind anal condom. A princely sum – which Resnic was later accused of wasting on full-body plastic surgery, trips to Costa Rica, parties at the Playboy mansion (field testing the condom perhaps?), and patents for inventions such as “rounded corners.” No mention of whether or not the condoms panned out.

The NIH also spent $3,531,925 to find out why lesbians are obese and gay men are not. The combined total for both projects is $5,998,407, but I am sure you will agree that this is necessary and vital research and is well worth the tab, while the spending in the attempt to find out exactly what happened at Benghazi where four Americans pleaded to their government for support and ultimately died is an unnecessary, wasteful expense motivated by evil men engaged in a political smear job.

I am not even sure I know what an Origami Condom is. I am pretty sure I don’t want to know however, and even more certain that this is not something my tax money should be used to fund. If the world has a burning need for Origami Condoms, let the private sector fund it, sell it, and make a profit. The government can then tax the profit, and we will all be happy.

Unfortunately, we have also learned that in the end, it is likely that none of this will make any difference whatsoever.

The Republicans, as usual, pre-defeated themselves by statements made by Kevin McCarthy, which were taken to mean that the entire probe was a Republican set-up designed to deflate Clinton’s poll numbers. Democrats were quick to jump on that, and vociferous in their defense of what should have been indefensible. The public got pre-screened Pablum designed to reinforce the media/administration view that “there’s nothing to see here folks, move along.”

Just as her husband could go on TV and lie to the public about his relationship with Monica Lewinski and get away with it because “it was only all about sex and everyone lies about sex,” when what it was really about was perjury (which if I am not mistaken is illegal, and something that we don’t want people to get away with as it undermines the entire rule of law), Hillary can get in front of us and lie and it’s ok because “the whole thing was being done simply as a political ploy to deprive Hillary of her rightful achievement of being the first female President of the United States.” Which is untrue, but even if it was, so what? The facts still remain.

Should all the Watergate evidence have been thrown out, and Richard Nixon retained in office simply because the investigation into what those under him did (and his subsequent cover-up) were politically motivated? No doubt they were. And yet, Nixon was still guilty. And still should have been removed.

What could possibly happen in Washington D.C., involving politicians, that isn’t political? Note the similarity between the words “political” and “politician.” No accident that.

So now we know. Hillary is a lying, conniving politician. She isn’t even close to being as charismatic as her husband, whom we could actually like even when we knew he was lying to us. Hillary on the other hand comes across as fake as they come.

But so what? Who cares? They all lie and connive, after all. Better to have Hillary than that phony baloney Uncle Tom Carson. Or that plastic manikin insensitive capitalist swine Fiorina. Or that unprintably overbearing, offensive pig Trump. Or any of those other racist, extremist, right-wing nut-job blow-hard “candidates” such as Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, Rand Paul, or Bobby Jindal, not to mention the washed up wannabe also ran’s Huckabee, Pataki, Kasich, and Santorum.

What a clown circus!

So instead we are going to elect another lying, conniving, plastic, incompetent individual to the highest office in the land. But that’s ok. At least she’s a woman; and a Democrat.

Besides, it is after all, her turn at bat.

In case it wasn’t immediately obvious, there is a large dose of sarcasm in this article. I note this as it is sometimes hard to recognize sarcasm in writing, since there are no aural or visual clues to key on.
